Poulton FC Shows Grit Despite Defeat to Burscough Richmond

In a hard-fought battle at Richmond Park, Poulton FC faced off against Burscough Richmond in what proved to be a challenging encounter. Although the final score was not in Poulton’s favour, the match was a testament to the resilience and determination of the Poulton side.

Despite a good start by Poulton, it was Burscough Richmond who managed to break the deadlock first as the Poulton defence, who had previously stood firm, were breached in the 15th minute. As the half went on, Burscough started to take control and they added 2 further goals to go in at halftime 3 goals up.

After a change in tactics, Poulton started the second half in determined fashion. Despite having several efforts on goal in the second half, Poulton were unable to find the breakthrough they sought. However, the Poulton lads deserve huge praise for the second half performance where they showed great positional discipline and attacking intent.
