Poulton started the game on the back of 2 poor results in a confident a dominant way. However, that quickly changed, after a comfortable start Eagley looked more and more threatening and eventually made the breakthrough with a great strike into the far top corner. The game changed for the rest of the half, Poulton not creating any chances and making many mistakes. This was summed up by the 2nd goal. A deflected free kick looped in the air and with the Poulton players standing there watching, an Eagley attacker just had a simple tap in at the back post. HT 2-0 and fully deserved. After half time, a little change in formation and personnel, Poulton came out a completely different side. Poulton’s keeper was a spectator for the next 45 with Poulton piling on the pressure. The goal came late in the half, great play to get the ball down the left, Ellis cut in and through a sea of bodies the ball found the bottom corner. Poulton then pushed another body upfront to try and get something from the game. Chances came and went and the whistle blew. After all the dominance 2nd half Poulton couldn’t quite find the equaliser. MOM Barty. Excellent 2nd half performance and played a few positions also. Poulton have a home fixture this week so will be looking to take the 2nd half performance from the off this time. Post Views: 42 2 Like Post navigation Narrow Defeat in Local Derby
