Poulton Reserves played their last home game of the season this afternoon, securing a hard-fought draw against a strong Chipping FC Reserves side. The result keeps their survival hopes alive as they look ahead to their final two away fixtures.

With just two games left—against Blackpool Wren Rovers on March 22nd and Rossendale (date TBD)—the Reserves must pick up at least two points to ensure they avoid relegation. Every match is now crucial, and the squad will need to show the same resilience and determination that earned them today’s result.

Reserves Manager, Ethan Martin, praised his players for their effort, saying: “As the season draws to a close In what’s been a tough time for the reserves due to numerous changes both on and off the pitch the squad has worked very hard over the last 6 weeks as we aim to secure safety in the division.

Performances have improved from the squad but unfortunately points have still been hard to come by. With 6 vital points left to play for I’m confident the lads will give everything they’ve got to stay up. Since taking charge I’ve been impressed with attitude, listening & desire. 3 points are earned not given and although we very much earned 3 today, it wasn’t to be but the same output over the next 2 games will hopefully get us over the line. Regardless of these next couple of results I can assure you that Poulton Reserves will be a big threat next season no matter the division”.

The squad will now turn their focus to their upcoming trip to Blackpool Wren Rovers, knowing that a positive result there will put them in a strong position to secure their place in the league for next season.
