Off the back of 2 wins, Poulton started off brightly and quickly went 1-0 up through Haiden and he quickly made it 2-0 after 7 minutes with a cool, calm finish. Poulton asserted their dominance on the game with excellent passing and creating numerous chances. Poulton then made it 3-0, scored by the solid Will Donegani. 3-0 at half time to Poulton but in reality it could have been 8 or 9. Poulton then came out for the 2nd half, lacklustre and sloppy in position , the visitors made it 3-1 with poor defending all over. Poulton quickly made it 4–1 through Brad Norman, after a great ball from the excellent Freddie Kenyon. Poulton then had chances to make the game beyond the visitors but squandered every single one. The game then, with 5 changes made, became very open and Rossendale grabbed a goal back to make it 4-2. The ever threatening Freddie Kenyon, put the game to bed with an excellent finish with 15 minutes to go.Rossendale scored late on through poor communication and poor defending again.3 points again for Poulton but the score line doesn’t suggest how the game went. It could and should have been double figures. Special mentions for Will Donegani at the back, Freddie and Dom in midfield and Haiden upfront was a threat all game. We go again next week when we travel down the 55 to face Fulwood Amateurs Reserves.
